ABOUT ABOUT

Join us in the Old City Wine Cellar as we welcome Greg Brewer of Brewer-Clifton on his first visit to Knoxville! Chef Preston has crafted a four course dinner to perfectly pair with Greg's wines.

Brewer’s career, spanning nearly 3 decades, has been solely committed to the Sta. Rita Hills appellation; which he helped map, define, and establish in 1997. He is engaged in every aspect of his work, from vineyard to market. Greg’s goal is the beauty and synchronicity of the system. The result is wine that is honest and driven, expressive of the place and the team who steward them.

Brewer-Clifton was started in 1995, by Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton, on $12,000 of mutual savings for fruit contracts to produce 240 cases of wine. By 2001, Robert Parker declared Brewer-Clifton to be his “single greatest revelation of all his 2001 tastings” and Greg among his list of 2001 wine personalities of the year. Brewer-Clifton makes Burgundian styled Chardonnays and extraordinary Pinot Noirs from the cool micro climates of Santa Barbara.

2012 marked the first vintage where all the fruit produced hailed from estate vineyards within Sta Rita Hills. That year The Wine Spectator deemed the 2012 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir as the #8 Wine of the Year, picked from all the wines submitted to the publication from the entire world.

Today, under the umbrella of Jackson Family Wines, Brewer-Clifton continues its misson of delivering world-class, site-specific Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
